Official membership numbers as of this meeting are 274.  It was determined that minutes from PTA Board meetings could be posted on the web site.  Reminders of monthly brown bag lunches with the principle could also be posted on web site.  It was determined that PTA can send email reminders and announcements easier than getting people to look up info on the web sight.

Paula shared concerns on information received about dangers of energy drinks.

Rayanne reviewed Red Ribbon Week.  Presentations by Chief Pettersen were good. (Police department is anxious to help.)  Door Decorating was the most successful activity.  It was recommended that activity be repeated each year.  Students were to talk about and come up with what to put on doors.  It created the most dialogue.  Extra sweatshirts from last year made good prizes given in drawings for those kids wearing their wrist bands.

Leslie reported on using parent volunteers for Special Olympics.  The Special Olympics went well, but parents were underused.  Recommendations for future were only two parents would be needed, when students were also used to help.

Laura reported on Reflections.  42 Jr. High (7th and 8th grade) and 59 sixth graders entered.  Discussion was held on how to handle one inappropriate entry and 1/3 of forms being submitted without parent signatures.  Next year announce that incomplete forms will be disqualified.  Second week of Nov. ice cream social will be held for all participants, and a power point presentation of all entries will be watched.

The Administrator Report included more explanation on Student Led Conferences.  Conferences will be led by students who explain their portfolio to their parents and will fill out goal sheet for next term.  Many, but not all at board meeting had received automated phone reminder to register for SL Conference.  Passwoard is Mustangs.

Council PTA meeting will be held at our school next month.  Richard Daybell will be honored for his work at the school.

Fundraising Activity preparations were reported on by Kristen.  We were all encouraged to help gather donations from area businesses, families, departments at school, etc. for baskets to be silent auctioned.  Photo Booth and climbing wall have been scheduled.  Proceedure for participating in 3on3 basketball tourney was explained.  Tickets will be sold on Wed night at Orchestra Concert and the night of SL Conferences.  Extra copies of ticket order form were made and given to board members to distribute in neighborhoods.
